Learn about the science behind eclipses, eclipse history, and tips / fun ways to best observe the upcoming April 8th 2024 total solar eclipse. Dr. Keely Finkelstein from the UT Austin Astronomy Department will share all that and more, plus some of her favorite eclipse memories!
Keely Finkelstein is an astronomer, astronomy educator with McDonald Observatory, and Associate Professor of Instruction in the Department of Astronomy at the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Finkelstein received her PhD, specializing in star formation studies of our own Milky Way Galaxy in 2008 from Arizona State University. She joined the teaching faculty at UT Austin in 2012. She is married to another astronomer, and they have two children. In her spare time, Keely likes going to concerts, attending Austin FC games, and enjoying all of the outdoor living Austin and Central Texas has to offer.
