This program is for ages 13+

Come learn to sword fight with Austin Historical Weapons Guild! We study Historical European Martial Arts, or basically, how people fought with swords back when people regularly had to fight with swords, based on manuals written in the 14th - 16th centuries. Come prepared to move around and play with swords.

This workshop will focus on a singlehanded sword, so think cutlasses, sabers, or messers - the medieval equivalent of a machete. The class will give you a basic attack position as well as some fun counters and tricks to help keep you safe.

Attendees will meet in Children's Wing before moving outside for the program.

Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
