Wildlife requires food, cover, water, and space to survive, but different species have different needs. Most of these needs are met through native plants. The thoughtful use of land and active management can benefit plants, wildlife, and people. This presentation will discuss managing for both plant and wildlife diversity.

Derrick Wolter has been with the Wildlife Division of Texas Parks & Wildlife Department for 20 years. He is the Senior Wildlife Biologist for a 13-county area on the eastern side of the Hill Country District, where he has worked for the past 17 years. Derrick mentors/trains district biologist and work with private landowners to improve native plant and wildlife communities.
