The In the Garden Presentation series by the Hays County Master Gardeners covers a variety of topics about gardening, including planting schedules, soil types, trees, native plants, environmental considerations, and more!

The Texas Superstar program identifies specific plants that have been proven to thrive in our Texas heat. The plants are insect-tolerant, and highly drought- and disease-resistant. They provide stunning color and beauty while requiring minimal care or reliance on chemical pest-control. Come ready to learn how to save money, identify these Texas Superstar plants, find ways to use them in your landscape, and care for them just enough to help them flourish and reward you with their beauty.

After gardening in the east for over 30 years, Marilyn Love returned to Texas in 2010 with no gardening experience in South Central Texas. She took the Master Gardener course to gain appropriate gardening knowledge and to make friends in her new community and certified as a Master Gardener in 2012. Following her special interest in native and adaptive perennial landscaping, she completed advanced training on Superstars® in 2015 and Earthkind® in 2017. She served as President of HCMGA in 2014-2015, Vice President in 2017 and 2020, and is currently serving
as the Vice President, chair of the Membership Committee, and chair of the Class Training Committee. She is an active member of the Speakers Network.
