Archeology of the Hill Country: Preserving our Heritage (ages 13-adult)

Wednesday, October 275:00—6:00 PMZoom

Join archeologist Tiffany Osburn for this program which will highlight the Hill Country archeological sites and artifacts that have revealed information about people who lived here before us.  These sites are the product of more than 10,000 years of human history in our area and can shed light on our ancient past.  We will look at how advancing technology increases the data potential of sites and how preservation of archeological sites can ensure they will be available in the future for even greater discovery.

Tiffany Osburn serves as a Regional Archeologist for the Texas Historical Commission (THC) where she is focused on the preservation of historic Texas landscapes.  In her current role with the state, she has the privilege of working with private landowners and communities to record and preserve important places in Texas for future generations.  Tiffany earned a Master’s in Anthropology from the University of Denver where she conducted archeological research with a specialization in the operation of geophysical equipment and in the interpretation of remote sensing data.  Tiffany works with the Texas Archeological Society to organize a large volunteer field excavation and educational opportunity each summer that is open to the public.
